I Failed to Anticipate This Silver Lining

 

For the past few months, one of the few bright spots in my General Hospital-viewing has been  Michael & Abby and their adorable therapy-sessions/slow build to possible romance. 

 

I have several reasons for enjoying this potential pair (sheer desperation being chief among them) - - 1.) Chad Duell is simply adorable and Andrea Bogart's low-key portrayal is not squicking me out from a cradle-robbing perspective. 2.) It's nice to have a break from the sturm and drang that is the rest of the show and focus on something innocent and sweet for a few minutes  3.) It's been a while since I cared about a teen romance (think Zander and Emily ten+ years ago) and last, but not least 4.) my keen anticipation of Carly's sure-to-be outrageous reaction to finding out that her baby boy is dating a stripper.

 

What I failed to anticipate however, was the immense joy that I would derive from Sonny's reaction to their relationship.  Yesterday, we got a sneak-peak - -

 

 

 

 

I'm aware that look isn't sparklingly different than Sonny's normal facial expression, but I choose to be optimistic none-the-less.  He looks a little worried, no?

 

At this point, Sonny really has no reason to object to Abby (unless the fish-net stockings gave her away as a stripper) or possibly, he has seen her dance in-person before.

 

 

Whatever the cause for Sonny's expression, I am now pinning all my hopes on Abby to save General Hospital for me and like-minded viewers - - if she winds up pregnant, I expect that particular revelation to take-out both Sonny AND Carly  in one fell swoop.

 

Oh happy day!

Although I do think Sonny can tell from strippers... considering he RAN a strip club when we first met him....and "dated" Karen Wexler when she went through drug addiction/stripping angst...well yeah being a hypocrite ain't nothing new to Sonny.

The look on Sonny's face was priceless! I'm also waiting for the explosion from Carly, but hopefully, now that Michael is 18 he'll tell Carly to take a hike.

I do think, however, that Sonny may stick up for Michael to Carly, telling her that Michael is finally happy.
