For a myriad of reasons, I found myself an entire four days behind on General Hospital this past week. Some of these reasons were quite legitimate - - scheduling issues at work, relatives visiting from out of town, the necessity of sleep, etc. Other reasons - - Shark Week, laundry, karaoke night at Barefoot Bernie's, etc. were less legitimate. I seem to be having more and more trouble motivating myself to watch recently.
In any event, in preparation for V-Day on August 11th, I need to be completely caught-up so that I can watch the excitement live. As such, I forced myself, literally forced myself, to watch all four episodes in a mini-marathon this morning before work.
It turns out that very little worth commenting on happened the last few days, and definitely nothing worth devoting more than a sentence or two and a well-chosen emoticon/screencap to.
Sonny and Alexis discuss Kristina and the fact that this whole abuse ordeal is finally over (thank heavens) and now she can place the blame where it belongs - - - on Warren Bauer. Gag me. Sonny offers to return to counseling with Kristina if needed, and Alexis wishes that Kristina could "see this side" of him.
Personally, I wish viewers could see the backside of Sonny's head as he leaves Port Charles permanently.
Dante discovers that Franco isn't really dead. This is my surprised face =
.
Sam informs Kristina that she is a lot like her father and she should try to develop a relationship with Sonny instead of blaming him for all her problems. Why are we all letting Sonny off the hook?
I can't say that I'm surprised, but I'd like to point out that Sonny is still a reprehensible human being and a lousy role-model for a young woman regardless of whether Warren was crazypants or not.
Surprisingly, Olivia agrees with the general online consensus that Claire's plan to procreate with Sonny is nuckin futs y'all.
Kristina and Ethan are really genuinely, sweetly and innocently cute together
Franco delivers baby Aiden to MamaNutcase in Oregon and jets off for parts unknown. Nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey goodbye!
Don't let the door hit ya' where the good lord split ya'!
Carly gets all hysterical and fishwife-y about Jax's trip to Barcelona with Skye. Much to my surprise, Jax correctly deduces that her jealousy is because she slept with Sonny again.
Atta boy, Jasper!
Dr. Steven Webber finally gets to take a shower after days of hospital lockdown.
***Please sir, I want some more.
***I was genuinely torn between quoting Oliver Twist and Enrique Iglesias' current single here, but in the end Dickens won out.
Carly decides that she and Johnny share a common goal now - - they both want Sonny to suffer. If Carly's plans weren't doomed to epic failure, I would totally support this partnership, LW and BB have had great chemistry since their very first scene together. P.S: I miss Ingo's 2007 hair.
Sam tells Lulu that "being in love shouldn't mean you forget who you are". Ha!
Of all characters to have utter that particular line. If only Guza knew the meaning of the word "irony", I'd think he was trying to be amusing.
Tracy visits Ethan in the hospital. Luke is "off the grid". Pleasant surprise - - Ethan's new neck-injury voice is wonderful
, I hope it's a keeper.
Surprise! Sonny tells Brook to stay away from Johnny because he's dangerous. If I have to hear that Johnny almost got Kristina killed one more time, I will not be responsible for my actions.
Who set the car bomb Sonny, seriously? Meanwhile, why is "it was an accident" a valid excuse whenever Sonny uses it, but Claudia deserved to be murdered for accidentally getting Michael shot? I hate
Did I mention that Steven Webber took a shower?
I'm just sayin', it was memorable.
Which is more than I can say for the rest of the week.
