So, I was all excited about Monday this week because I'm expecting an ebay order to arrive in the mail, I'm taking Thursday off from work (just because), I mailed the last payment for my car loan, and the neighbor came by over the weekend to collect all the apples from the tree in my backyard which means that I will no longer have to chase the dogs around the darkness in my bathrobe at 5:30am whispering loudly "don't eat that Mason, it'll make you sick to your stomach".
Yay for an extra 15 minutes of sleep each morning!
In addition, tonight kicks off the beginning of ABC's premiere week featuring Castle, Dancing with the Stars, Eastwick, and whatever Christian Slater's new show is called - - I was giddy, I tell you. The concept of anticipation has been foreign to me when it comes to anything ABC-entertainment-related, but I could definitely get used to the sensation.
To top it all off, this afternoon, by some wild and crazy fluke, I found General Hospital highly entertaining - - really.
First, Sonny tells crazy Papa Zucchini that he will kill Johnny if Anthony steps out of line again, which Daddy counters by correctly deducing Sonny's jealousy and threatening Olivia's life - - Point 1 to crazy pants. Next, Sonny gets all "Olivia better not get so much as a hang-nail" and Anthony wonders if Claudia is aware of Sonny's strong feelings for Olivia, warning "I'd step up the no-neck brigade if I was you because, I'm here to tell you, hell hath no fury like Claudia scorned" - - Ha! Point 2 to AZ. More macho posturing and measuring continues as Sonny threatens to use Claudia against her father, with Anthony replying "you got weaknesses too Mr. Dimples" - - game, set, and match, to the Squash family.
Next, I was aglow with nostalgia when Jason sought Robin's medical opinion on Michael's coma memories and she advised him not to seek revenge because of the negative impact on Michael and the perpetuation of the cycle of violence. Remember when Robin used to encourage Jason to do the right thing instead of apologizing for his criminal behavior? Good times, those. Seeing the Robin I know and love, makes me smile.
You know what else gives me a happy? Jason calling Sonny on his self-serving plan to eliminate Johnny. Did anyone else shudder and begin to have Karpov flashbacks when Sonny told Jason he had "handled" Anthony? Thank goodness Jason told him what a dumbass idea killing Johnny would be - - my view of Jason rises exponentially when he's on the outs with Sonny, don't know why.
Dominic continues to bask in awesomeness - - arguing with Olivia, defending himself to Ronnie, or flirting with Lulu - - all good. Totally loved Epiphany trying to help him undress - LOL!
Lucky and Liz - - totally painful to watch, I can't even comment because it makes the veins in my head throb.
Nikolas and Rebecca - - meh, still don't care. However, I do find the possibility of Nik going dark to be intriguing, I just wish he hadn't screwed his brother to get there.
Another unexpected source of humor - - Ethan {upon finding Nikolas waiting on the parapet in the dark} - - "this screams for a vampire reference" - - ha! Shall I connect the dots between General Hospital and suck-age??
Not today, I think.
I agree with you as usual. I loved the Jason/ Robin scenes so much. It is almost non-existent for Jason to get called out, especially by a women. Sonny is a moron as usual and the whole Nik/Rebecca/Liz/Lucky stuff is ridiculous and plot driven as usual.
The Nik/Liz garbadge that is being shown is clearly happening for 2 reasons:
1) Nik/ Rebecca was a bust so they are trying to garner sympathy for the couple by having Nik/ Liz become horrible people by sleeping together even though they did not show the slightest bit of interest in each other up until a couple of months ago.
2) JASAM- I dont care if I am the only one who believes this but the Nik/Liz story is partially being done to destroy the Liz character and by extention the Liason connection. It is not a coincidence that liz was on the backburner for most of the year and then just around the time that Jasam sleep together all of a sudden Nik and Liz are obsessed with each other. All of a sudden after virtually never mentioning Jake or Liz this year Jason is all of a sudden talking about how Nik/Liz being together would ruin his sons life. It is so obvious what Guza and Frons are trying to do, and I'm not falling for it. Most people that I talk about the show still cant tell me if Liz and Lucky have been together for most of this year or if they have been friends in 2009. It went from yes to no to were taking it slow to Lucky making a play for Rebecca to Liz and Lucky just being friends and for a while no one was sure if they were a couple or not, I dont even think the actors knew what was going on. Now after Jake gets hurt he is proposing to her, it is so clear what they are doing. I have seen guza do it long enough now to spot it and this is why the show will never be good until he is fired.
Dante is awesome. It just needs to be said over and over again. Im sure he will be destroyed sooner or later but I'll enjoy the character and the actor for the time being.

The Dante/Lulu story doesn't do anything for me. I think JB is a very good actress but somehow her pairings never connect with me. It would be more interesting if they did a story where she is uncertain about her sexuality and has an affair with a woman.
I think the Nik/Liz story is an interesting one and completely soapy. It's like watching an accident that you can't turn away from. And I think if viewers are not turning away from it, it's working for Guza. I'm hoping that this situation makes Lucky a stronger individual and he stops taking crap.

I also like Jason getting called out by a woman - it seems so few are allowed to do it - only Alexis and sometimes Maxie. Jason worship is too common. It needs to be stopped, lol.

I missed what I guess passes for goodness on GH, namely Robin calling Jason out, because I do not, will not, ever watch a scene that Jason is in, not even for dear Robin. Not one second of the murdering criminal thug. I fast forwarded right through it. Good to know that she didn't kiss his ass, but not worth watching for me. I have vowed that the only future scene that has Jason or Sonny that I will tune in for is that never-ending fantasy of mine of those two in a murder/suicide. That's it.
