Wow, the last several weeks on General Hospital have been chock full of soapy goodness. I haven't had a lot to say over the past ten days mostly because I am too emotionally drained to type much of anything after all the Robin-grieving, but also, I don't have a lot to complain about.
Obviously, I do have some complaints (I am still me afterall), but my minor gripes hardly seem worth mentioning in light of the overall upswing in quality. I'm not going to spend a lot of time giving Ron Carlivati a tongue-bath here, I have been burned before by becoming too hopeful too early in the transition (darn you, Garin Wolf!!), but I DO want to mention my absolute favorite development from last week - - Kate lets her hair down and tries to seduce Johnny as Connie. Ha!
Not only were the scenes hysterical, but I can not tell you guys how long I have been waiting for someone in charge over at General Hospital to realize what I have known for approximately the last ten years - - - loving Sonny Corinthos IS a mental illness in and of itself.
Even though I'm relatively certain this isn't how it works in real life, I am all about Kate developing a split-personality from the sheer WTF-ery of the fact that she even considered (let alone went through with) a Sonny-reconciliation after the man got her shot TWICE.
Sure I wish Kate wasn't a thing at all, or that she was maybe played by a stronger actress, but if I have to put up with her in the first place, I'm glad it's going to be in the context of crucifying Sonny Corinthos. As Mad Max says "now THAT is a noble cause . . ."
Allow me a few brief minutes in my happy place before we go back to mourning Robin and killing Llanview toddlers
Okay, I'm good now.
Proceed.
